History
Hua Nan Commercial Bank, Ltd. was established in 1919 under Japanese governance with head office in Taipei, Taiwan and branches in Canton, Haiphong, Saigon, Rangoon, Singapore, Tokyo and other cities throughout Asia. Founders included the prominent local entrepreneur, Mr. Lin Hsiung-cheng, and several Southeast Asian overseas Chinese investors.
   
•1945 –Retrocession of Taiwan from Japanese governance to the Republic of China.
•1947 –Merged with Taiwan Trust Company.
•1948 –More than 60 branches had been established throughout Taiwan.
  –The Bank's capital was increased to 1 billion Old Taiwan dollars.
•1967 –Set up International Banking Department.
•1984 –Set up Offshore Banking Unit.
•1990 –Set up Los Angles and New York branches.
•1998 –The Bank completed privatization.
•2001 –The bank's capital was increased to NT$ 37,091 million.
  –The Bank becomes a subsidiary of Hua Nan Financial Holdings Co., Ltd.
